🥑 Do you remember the recipe book I was working on a while back? I’ve been so excited to share this! The book was a wedding gift, and it has been gifted (and loved), so I can also now show you the whole thing.
🍔 This was an absolutely genius idea. All credit to my fabulous client Niki (this book is the fifth addition to her @boundinabook collection), but I will be recommending it as an idea to anyone looking for a great way to create a gift for a family member, or a joint family project. It would also work for a group of #foodie friends! It is a gorgeous way to build something that combines practical, memories and the potential for so much humour.
This recipe book was split into: Starters, Mains, a special sub-section for potatoes 🥔😆, Treats, and Tipples. Some blank pages were included at the end for the new couple to add their own favourite recipes too, plus a sentimental message on the final page.
🌽 Each recipe in the book is a well-loved family favourite, with recipe contributions from every family member (some more than others!), and recipe pages contain quotes from the family kitchen or around the dinner table, and personal tips and jokes.
🍅 Most photos used were personal ones, and where photos were missing, Canva stepped in and saved the day with the beautiful culinary photos available there. (Amazing what a few high-quality food photos can do for a book!)
🍗 The way the humour came through in this book was epic. Even I was giggling as I made this.
Bookmarking the larger sections were full-page spreads of photos of family dinners, food in different countries, and many, many drinks! 🍸🥤🥃
Set up for this book is similar to that of a regular gift book, only instead of folders for people, it will need folders for recipes. Plenty of planning and organisation is important - it is not a quick book to put together - but it is OH SO WORTH IT!
